Robert A. Mata started in workers’ compensation shortly after graduating in 2010 from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. In 2012, Robert began representing employers and carriers in workers’ compensation cases throughout Southern California. This experience includes all stages of litigation, from initial case evaluations, to completing discovery, going to trial, and filing appeals. More recently, Robert spent several years working for a major workers’ compensation carrier as in-house counsel before coming over to Goldman Magdalin Straatsma in 2023. Robert is a Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation by the State Bar of California, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, whether it be by camping, traveling, or just watching television.
